How to make home-made Mandazi

  1. Mix the dry ingredients with the flour in a bowl
  2. In a separate bowl,whisk the egg into the milk or your coconut milk.
  3. Make a well at the center of your flour and your milk and egg mixture.Slow mix to form a dough.
  4. Knead the dough for 3-4 mins or preferably until it stops sticking to the sides of the bowl and get a smooth surface.
  5. Cover the dough with damp cloth and allow to rest for 15 mins.
  6. Roll the dough on a lightly floured surface into 1 cm thick piece.
  7. With a sharp small knife,cut the dough into the desired size setting aside ready for deep frying.
  8. Heat the oil in a deep pan or pot and gently dip the mandazi pieces to cook until light brown on one side then turn on to the other side.
  9. Do it to all your dough pieces .Serve warm or cold.
